Skills development

On 8th and 9th June 2021Resilience Academy in collaboration with GeoICT4e coordinated a training to University experts from UDSMARUSUASUZAMoCUUTUNOVIA, and TURKU MK to provide skills on e-learning using digicampus. The training was derived from the experiences that Resilience Academy had in preparing the e-learning materials to develop online skills as part of the broader objective to provide skills to University staff and students.

The training of Digicampus which was conducted online with more than 20 participants focused on developing online training materials to equip experts with skills to developing online type materials. It also provided skills to using the digicampus platform to upload training materials as well as management of training content. This provided insight on the use of the Digcampus platform starting from the development of training materials to managing and maintaining the online contents.

The university experts who attended the training are expected to use the skills to develop massive open online courses (MOOCs) for the university curriculums and for the Resilience Academy and GeoICT4e projects. This way, many university students will be able to access the training materials on various skills for Geospatial and Urban issues to contribute to making cities more resilient.

Resilience Academy will continue to coordinate this kind of training in order to provide skills to local experts and students that will give the needed skills and practicals to overcome urban climate and resilience challenges. Apart from training, Resilience Academy is working on a university Internship ProgramClimate Risk Database, and Research and Innovation Activities.
