Today on 6 March, Partners who are part of the Resilience Academy MoU met to discuss the future direction of the Tanzania Resilience Academy and how to strengthen collaboration between all stakeholders. The full-day meeting brought together representatives from various partner organizations to review past achievements, share success stories, and collaboratively plan the next phase of the Academy’s development. Resilience Academy partners consist of universities in Tanzania and Finland, the Government of Tanzania under the ICTC office, and private organizations represented by OMDTZ and others. The goal was to have institutions committed to building climate resilience across Tanzania.
During the workshop, partners engaged in brainstorming to explore cooperation opportunities around four key Resilience Academy services:
Climate-Resilient Development (CRD): Partners discussed how to integrate climate resilience strategies into urban planning, infrastructure development, and community-based adaptation projects.
Student Placements: Universities shared experiences about successful internship programs and explored ways to expand placement opportunities with government agencies and private sector partners.
Online Learning Opportunities: Participants explored innovative approaches to developing and delivering online courses that could reach students and professionals throughout Tanzania and beyond.
Research and Innovation Initiatives: Academic partners proposed joint research projects that could address pressing climate challenges while creating opportunities for cross-institutional collaboration.
